What happens if I forget to respond?

We don't panic. Here's the sequence: (1) We send a second reminder 15 minutes after your first missed check-in. (2) After 1 hour, we send a third reminder to confirm. (3) After the escalation window you configured (default: 3 hours), we notify your emergency contacts. The message will say: "Still Here hasn't heard from [Name]. We recommend reaching out to them directly before taking further action."

What if I'm going on vacation or camping?

Turn on Vacation Mode with one click. Set the dates you'll be away, and we'll pause check-ins until you return. No false alarms. Your emergency contacts can optionally be notified that you're going off-grid (so they don't worry when you're silent).

Is this a replacement for 911 or medical alert systems?

No. Still Here is a convenience and peace-of-mind service, not a life-safety system. We do not contact emergency services. If you're in immediate danger, always call 911 (US), 999 (UK), or 112 (EU). Think of us as a digital "neighbor checking in" — not an ambulance.

How is my data protected?

Your check-in data and emergency contacts are encrypted at rest and in transit. We comply with GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California). We never sell your data. You can export or delete your account and all associated data at any time. Emergency contacts must consent to being listed before they receive any notifications.

How do my emergency contacts know what to do?

When you add an emergency contact, we send them a confirmation email explaining what Still Here is and what they should do if they receive an alert. They can customize their notification preferences. You can also write a personal note to each contact that will be included if an alert is ever sent.

How do I get started?

Purchase a plan on Gumroad — you'll receive a license key via email. Then return to this page, enter your email and license key to activate. Once activated, we'll guide you through adding emergency contacts and setting your check-in schedule.
